Academics, a specialist teaching recruiter, is offering long-term Secondary NQT roles in the Newport area starting after October half-term 2026. These roles are designed for Newly Qualified Teachers seeking induction year opportunities across various subjects.

Selected candidates will be paid on the NQT pay scale (£173–£180 per day), with a bespoke induction programme and a Guaranteed Work Scheme. DBS and EWC registration can be processed through Academics, and permanent contracts may be offered.

Job description

Are you a secondary NQT struggling to find a permanent role with a school? Are you a secondary NQT looking to complete the induction year straightaway? Academics have several positions available, and we are looking for NQTs to undertake these long-term roles (at least two terms). These Newport roles (various subjects) are due to start after October half-term (November 2026). Requirements for this Secondary NQT role:

• You're a Newly Qualified Teacher (NQT)
• DBS and EWC registered (this can be produced through us!)
• You have a passion for teaching, and inspiring young learners.
• Develop, plan, and implement engaging lessons that follow the curriculum guidelines.

Desirable skills for this Secondary NQT Role:

• You live in or near Newport.
• Full driving licence, and access to a car.
• Salary will be determined by the successful candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, and will be in accordance with the client's pay policy
