Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking an Newly Qualified Teacher (NQT) in Newport, South Wales to teach KS3/KS4 (KS5 depending on subject) at one of its partner secondary schools. The role offers full academic year contracts and a daily pay rate from £172.98, with 8:30am–3/3:30pm hours and both full-time or flexible part-time options.

You will plan and deliver dynamic lessons, align with the national curriculum, and receive full support and CPD through Teaching Personnel as you begin your teaching

Qualifications

• QTS required, or in the process of completing your teacher training/induction.
• Strong classroom management and planning abilities.
• Commitment to best practices in secondary education.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
• Create an inclusive, supportive learning environment for KS3/KS4 (KS5 depending on subject).
• Monitor progress and adapt teaching to meet student needs.
• Collaborate with partner schools and provide robust pastoral support.

You'll be teaching Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of supporting Key Stage 5 depending on your subject. Your focus will be planning and delivering dynamic lessons that follow the national curriculum and spark curiosity and a love for learning.

You'll receive full support throughout your placement, making this an ideal opportunity for someone starting your teaching career - and you can even complete your NQT hours through supply.

What We're Looking For

• Have the ability to plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons aligned with the national curriculum
• Create an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environment for all learners
• Demonstrate strong classroom management, behaviour strategies, and confident communication skills
• Have a genuine passion for education and want to make a positive, lasting impact

Requirements

To be considered for the role, you will need:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), or be in the process of completing your teacher training/induction

If you don't yet have all the necessary documentation, Teaching Personnel can support you in obtaining:

• Education Workforce Council (EWC)
• An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
• Level 2 Safeguarding training
• Two recent professional references covering the last 24 months - including references from your PGCE placements
