Job summary

Milk Education is seeking caring Learning Support Assistants to join a welcoming secondary school in Birkenhead. You will work closely with teachers and students to provide tailored support that helps learners thrive academically and personally.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will build strong relationships, encourage independence and engagement, and support a range of needs. Flexible hours and ongoing CPD opportunities are available through Milk Academy.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people in education, childcare, youth work or similar settings.
• A patient, empathetic and nurturing approach.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Confidence supporting students with a range of additional needs.
• A genuine passion for helping young people succeed.
• Relevant qualifications or transferable experience are desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Supporting students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
• Helping pupils with SEND, SEMH or additional learning needs to access the curriculum.
• Encouraging independence, confidence and engagement in lessons.
• Assisting teachers with classroom activities and learning resources.
• Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
• Building trusting relationships with students, staff and families.
