Job summary

Axcis Education Recruitment is looking for a caring and committed Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in Taunton from September. This role provides in-school support to pupils needing help accessing the curriculum and developing confidence.

You will work alongside teachers and the SEND team, delivering 1:1 and small-group support, helping pupils stay engaged and reach their potential.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND is beneficial.
• Background in care, youth work, mentoring, coaching also considered.
• Welcomes candidates with diverse backgrounds in supporting young people.

Responsibilities

• Support students to access learning and participate fully in lessons.
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support where required.
• Help pupils develop confidence, independence, and positive learning behaviours.
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement.
• Build strong relationships with students and collaborate with staff.
