Location: Taunton Pay: £92.00 – £109.00 per day Contract (Temp – Perm): Full-time | Term Time Only | September Start
We are looking for a caring and committed Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in Taunton from September. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a school that places a strong emphasis on high standards, high expectations, and knowing students as individuals.
The school has a calm and focused atmosphere, with positive relationships between staff and students helping to create a supportive environment where young people can thrive.
Working alongside teachers and the wider SEND team, you will provide support to students who may experience barriers to learning. The role will involve helping pupils access the curriculum, develop confidence and independence, and engage positively with school life. You may work with a range of students across the school, providing in-class support, 1:1 assistance, and small-group interventions depending on individual needs. The school's SEND provision includes targeted interventions and personalised support, with a focus on helping students develop both academically and personally.
Experience supporting children with SEND, either professionally or personally, would be highly beneficial, although we are also keen to hear from candidates with backgrounds in care, youth work, mentoring, coaching, or other roles supporting young people.
The school was rated Good by Ofsted in its March 2023 inspection, with inspectors highlighting the calm and focused atmosphere, warm relationships between pupils and staff, ambitious curriculum, and strong culture of safeguarding.
If you're passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and reach their potential, we'd love to hear from you.
