Are you a creative and passionate Design & Technology Teacher looking for your next opportunity? Milk Education is working with a welcoming secondary school in Barnsley seeking an enthusiastic teacher to join their team from September 2026.
This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, encouraging creativity, innovation and practical problem-solving while delivering an engaging Design & Technology curriculum.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and inspiring Design & Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Teach both practical and theoretical elements of the curriculum, including designing, making, evaluating and technical knowledge
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where every student can succeed
- Assess, monitor and support student progress, adapting your teaching to meet a range of learning needs
- Promote safe working practices and ensure all workshop and classroom activities comply with health and safety requirements
- Encourage creativity, independent thinking and confidence through hands-on learning
- Support extracurricular opportunities such as STEM projects, design competitions and enrichment activities where appropriate
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver outstanding outcomes for students
- Maintain high professional standards while supporting the values and ethos of the school
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Experience teaching Design & Technology across KS3 and KS4
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage learners of all abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Milk Education
