Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Cover Supervisor to work in secondary schools in Bridgwater and Taunton from September, delivering pre-planned lessons when the class teacher is absent. You will manage student behaviour and keep learners engaged, drawing on experience as a Teaching Assistant or Sports Coach to support classroom progression.

The role offers full training and ongoing CPD, with market-leading pay rates and a supportive consultant team ready to assist through onboarding and placement

Qualifications

• Experience working with secondary-aged students (Teaching Assistant, Sports Coach or similar)
• Confidence in leading classroom activities with groups of students
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher
• Manage classroom behaviour and keep students engaged with learning
• Support progression from teaching assistant/sports coach background into classroom-based work
