Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a Cover Supervisor in South Gloucestershire for a September start. The role involves delivering pre-planned lessons when the class teacher is absent and maintaining positive classroom behaviour to keep students engaged.

This full-time position offers training to progress within education, with rewarding experience for TA or sports coach backgrounds and a pathway into teaching in English secondary schools.

Qualifications

• Experience with secondary-aged students, ideally as a Teaching Assistant, Sports Coach or within another educational setting.
• Confident working with groups of young people and leading classroom activities.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage behaviour and create a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
• Manage classroom behaviour and keep students engaged.
• Support schools in developing students' learning and relationships.
• Full training provided to progress into Cover Supervisor role.
