Job summary

Referment is partnering with a fully regulated UK digital bank to recruit an Operational Risk Analyst based in London or Manchester. You will operate in the second line of defence, advising teams on identifying, assessing, monitoring and reporting operational risks, and will help develop and maintain the bank's risk framework.

The role involves risk assessments, policy development, RCSA oversight, and reporting to senior management and the Board.

Qualifications

• Experience in operational risk, risk management, internal controls, or related assurance role.
• Familiar with RCSAs, risk events, issues management and KRIs.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret data and identify trends.
• Ability to document control assessments and prepare reporting up to Board level.
• Understanding of the UK regulatory environment for banks.

Responsibilities

• Support business areas in identifying and assessing operational risks and maintaining effective controls.
• Conduct risk assessments and reviews, identify control weaknesses and recommend improvements.
• Develop, maintain and implement operational risk policies and procedures.
• Oversee and challenge the RCSA process, including risk assessments, controls and action plans.
• Coordinate risk events and issues process, ensuring clear ownership and progress.
• Review risk events to identify recurring themes and root causes.
• Test and monitor controls for design and operating effectiveness.
• Develop and monitor key risk indicators and escalate concerns.
• Prepare management information and monthly/quarterly reporting for senior management and the Board.
• Provide second-line advice and challenge on projects, new products and features.
