Job summary

Stena Line is seeking a 2nd Engineer to join Stena Superfast 8 on the Cairnryan–Belfast route. You will work under the Chief Engineer, overseeing maintenance, safety procedures, and risk management while supporting the Master. The role offers clear career progression within a dynamic fleet environment.

Essential STCW certifications are required, with a Chief Engineer Unlimited CoC expected at the time of application. Contact Alison for questions; recruitment agencies are declined.

Qualifications

• Must hold STCW certifications listed.
• Chief Engineer Unlimited CoC required at time of application.
• Proof of Right to Work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Master in all respects and report to the Chief Engineer.
• Carry out maintenance on board according to the Planned Maintenance Program.
• Be familiar with ship operating and technical procedures.
• Manage identified risk to ship, personnel and environment.
• Report incidents or deficiencies relating to machinery or equipment.
• Be proactive in taking duties above rank when needed.
