Job Description

Reporting to the Sous Chef, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  1. Consistently offer professional, friendly and proactive guest service while supporting fellow colleagues.
  2. Ensure all food items are prepared on time in accordance with quality and quantity standards.
  3. Maintain cleanliness and maintenance of all assigned work areas, utensils, and equipment.
  4. Assist with cost control by minimizing spoilage, waste, and ensuring proper storage of food, etc.
  5. Maintain close communication with colleagues to maximize consistent quality.
  6. Continuously improve knowledge and skills by assisting senior chefs and embracing learning opportunities.
  7. Follow kitchen policies, procedures, service standards, including all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverages.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of culinary experience working in all areas of a hotel kitchen.
  • Culinary Diploma or Certification from a recognized school is an asset.
  • Excellent customer service, teamwork, interpersonal, multi-tasking, communication (verbal and written), organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Be accountable, reliable, creative, and flexible.
  • Able to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced, multicultural environment and as part of a team.
  • Focused on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
  • Computer literate with Microsoft Windows applications is an asset.

Additional Information

Schedules: Must be able to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
