Job summary

Meallmore are seeking a Second Chef in Kemnay to support the Head Chef in planning and delivering nutritious, home-cooked meals for residents across dementia, nursing, residential and specialist care homes. You will help tailor menus to individual preferences and dietary needs.

The role emphasises a warm, resident-focused approach, strong cookery skills, and the ability to work to deadlines while maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.

Qualifications

• Strong cookery skills for nutritious, home-cooked meals
• Excellent communication with care teams and residents
• Able to work to deadlines and manage priorities
• Knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards
• Understanding of nutrition and dietary needs is desirable
• Culinary qualification is desirable but not essential

Responsibilities

• Support Head Chef in planning and preparing meals reflecting resident preferences and dietary requirements
• Train and guide care teams on textured food options and dietary compliance
• Ensure adherence to Meallmore quality, hygiene and cleanliness standards
• Contribute to menu development and resident-centred meal planning
