Job summary

Auto Skills UK is seeking a Multiskilled Panel Beater / Panel Technician with MET in Wigan. You will perform high-quality panel beating and MET work with flexible start times and a 40-hour week.

This permanent role offers a basic salary of £39,500–£43,500 depending on experience, with an OTE of £50,000, and the chance to work across vehicle body repair and MET tasks while advancing your skillset.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Panel Beater, Panel Technician or Vehicle Body Repair Technician within an accident repair or Bodyshop environment.
• Strong practical Panel Beating skills.
• Proven ability to carry out MET work alongside Panel Beater responsibilities.
• Good understanding of vehicle construction, accident damage and modern repair methods.
• A recognised apprenticeship or Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Body Repair (NVQ / IMI / SVQ / ATA) is preferred.
• High standards of workmanship with good attention to detail.
• Professional approach with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out high-quality Panel Beating and vehicle body repairs.
• Strip and fit vehicle components as required throughout the repair process.
• Complete Mechanical, Electrical and Trim work where required.
• Assess damaged vehicles and follow appropriate repair methods.
• Ensure completed repairs meet the required quality and safety standards.
• Work efficiently to agreed repair time scales without compromising workmanship.
• Liaise with other Bodyshop departments to ensure vehicles progress efficiently through the repair process.
