Job summary

The role covers pre-contract estimating and post-contract commercial management, with responsibilities for accurate pricing, take-offs, valuations, and cost control.

You will review drawings, prepare detailed pricing, manage labour schedules and track costs to prevent overruns, while maintaining clear communication with suppliers, subcontractors and internal

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Estimator in construction or related industries.
• Strong understanding of cost control principles and budget management techniques.
• Proficiency in estimating software tools such as bluebeam and Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and contractual documents.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate across teams and present estimates clearly.

Responsibilities

• Carry out detailed take-offs and measurements from drawings, specifications and project information.
• Prepare accurate and competitive estimates and pricing for tenders and enquiries.
• Price labour, materials, plant, subcontractors and associated project costs.
• Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Review drawings and specifications to identify scope, omissions, risks and opportunities.
• Prepare detailed pricing breakdowns and schedules.
• Maintain accurate estimating records and cost databases.
• Ensure tenders and quotations are completed accurately and within required deadlines.
• Prepare and maintain labour schedules, monitoring labour requirements and costs against budget.
• Track project costs and identify potential cost overruns at an early stage.
