Construction Recruitment Services Ltd is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join our client in East London/Essex. You will manage tendering activities, produce quantity take-offs, price tenders, and prepare detailed commercial submissions to support contract awards.

You will collaborate with clients, suppliers, and operations, attend tender meetings, maintain tender records, and ensure a smooth transition from bid to delivery.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Construction Estimator

Location: East London/Essex

Salary: £30,000-£50,000 per annum, depending on experience

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm

Working arrangement: Office-based with flexible/home-working options available

An established construction business operating within the specialist waterproofing and building protection sector is looking to appoint an experienced Construction Estimator

The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing competitive tenders, managing the estimating process and supporting projects from initial enquiry through to contract award and handover.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing a variety of estimating and tendering activities, working closely with clients, suppliers, operational teams and senior management.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing construction drawings and preparing accurate quantity take-offs.
• Pricing tenders and compiling detailed commercial proposals.
• Preparing information and supporting documentation for formal bid submissions.
• Producing tender clarifications, qualifications and associated commercial notes.
• Working with operational colleagues to ensure a smooth transition from tender stage into delivery.
• Attending tender meetings, pre-contract discussions and handover meetings where required.
• Following up submitted quotations and obtaining feedback from prospective clients.
• Maintaining accurate records of live and completed tenders.
• Providing regular updates on tender activity, opportunities and progress.
• Managing information through an online tender management system.
• Preparing commercial documentation for subcontractor and supplier enquiries.
• Assisting with the pricing of preliminaries and other project-related costs.

About You

We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of construction estimating and the tender process. You should be organised, commercially aware and comfortable managing several bids at different stages simultaneously.

Ideally, you will have:

• Previous experience in a construction estimating or tender management position.
• Experience pricing construction projects and preparing commercial submissions.
• Familiarity with NEC and/or JCT contracts.
• An understanding of different procurement routes and tendering procedures.
• Experience using estimating or construction-related software.
• The ability to interpret drawings and produce accurate take-offs.
• Confidence preparing tender qualifications, exclusions and clarifications.
