Royal Mail is recruiting for Seasonal Mail Sorters in Carlisle to help process letters, parcels and gifts during the busy Christmas period. No prior warehouse or sorting experience is required; a positive attitude and team spirit are valued.

You will unload items from lorries, move mail around sites, and sort work quickly and accurately. Several shift patterns are available at Carlisle Mail Centre and Carlisle Distribution.

Qualifications

• No previous warehouse or mail sorting experience required.
• Must be able to work on your feet and handle items up to 11 kg.
• Night shifts are not available to applicants under 18 years old.

No previous warehouse or mail sorting experience is required - just bring your enthusiasm and we'll provide the rest.

Tis the season to be earning a little extra

As a Seasonal Mail Sorter, you'll help process millions of cards, gifts, and parcels during our busiest time of year. Your duties will include:

• Unloading letters and parcels from delivery lorries
• Moving mail safely around our sorting centres and warehouses
• Helping sort letters and parcels quickly and accurately

We have a variety of shift patterns available, including the core shift patterns below, at:

Carlisle Mail Centre, Junction Street, CARLISLE, CA1 1AA

Carlisle Distribution, Junction Street, CARLISLE, CA1 1AA

• Nights: 22:00 - 06:00 (£16.44 p/h)

Please note, night shifts are not available to applicants under 18 years old.

Depending on location, you may have access to facilities such as on-site canteens, break areas, social spaces and subsidised gym facilities.

What you'll need to join the team

You don't need any previous warehouse operative, mail or parcel sorting experience. We're looking for people who:

• Have a positive attitude and team spirit.
• Are organised and able to work independently and as part of a team in a busy environment.
• Enjoy active, hands-on work, including working on your feet, pushing / pulling trolleys (up to 250kg with wheels!), and handling items up to 11kg.
• Are flexible and happy to switch tasks when needed.
