Job summary

Royal Mail is inviting applications for a Seasonal Mail Sorter in Sheffield. You will support the festive peak by unloading items from delivery lorries, moving mail within sorting centres, and assisting in quick, accurate sorting of letters and parcels.

No prior warehouse experience is required; we’re looking for energetic individuals with a positive attitude, flexibility, and the ability to work on your feet in a busy environment. Shift patterns vary, with some weekend slots available.

Qualifications

• No previous warehouse or mail sorting experience is required.
• Enthusiasm and a positive attitude are valued.
• Be organised and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Enjoy active, hands-on work on your feet.
• Able to push/pull trolleys up to 250 kg and handle items up to 11 kg.
• Be flexible and ready to switch tasks when needed.
• Seasonal Mail Sorter roles do not qualify for visa sponsorship.

Pay rate: hourly rate is dependent on the shift pattern you're offered

Looking for a temporary Christmas job?

'Tis the season to be earning a little extra

As a Seasonal Mail Sorter, you'll help process millions of cards, gifts, and parcels during our busiest time of year. Your duties will include:

• Unloading letters and parcels from delivery lorries
• Moving mail safely around our sorting centres and warehouses
• Helping sort letters and parcels quickly and accurately

We have a variety of shift patterns available at Sheffield Mail Centre, First Post House, Brightside Lane, SHEFFIELD, S9 2XX, including the following core shift patterns:

• Weekends: Various shifts available (as above p/h)

Please note, night shifts are not available to applicants under 18 years old.

Depending on location, you may have access to facilities such as on-site canteens, break areas, social spaces and subsidised gym facilities.

What You’ll Need To Join The Team

You don't need any previous warehouse operative, mail or parcel sorting experience. We're looking for people who:

• Have a positive attitude and team spirit.
• Are organised and able to work independently and as part of a team in a busy environment.
• Enjoy active, hands-on work, including working on your feet, pushing / pulling trolleys (up to 250kg with wheels!), and handling items up to 11kg.
• Are flexible and happy to switch tasks when needed.
