Job summary

Royal Mail is hiring Seasonal Mail Sorters in Leeds to support peak period operations. Join our busy team and help process millions of cards, gifts and parcels with on-site facilities and shift options.

No previous warehouse or mail sorting experience is required; full training will be provided. You will be on your feet, moving mail, and sorting quickly in a supportive, fast-paced environment during the Christmas season.

Qualifications

• No previous warehouse, mail or parcel sorting experience required.
• Must be able to stand and be on your feet for long periods.
• Comfort with manual handling and lifting up to 11kg.

Responsibilities

• Unload letters and parcels from delivery vehicles.
• Move mail around sorting centres and warehouses.

No previous warehouse or mail sorting experience is required - just bring your enthusiasm and we'll provide the rest.

'Tis the season to be earning a little extra

As a Seasonal Mail Sorter, you'll help process millions of cards, gifts, and parcels during our busiest time of year. Your duties will include:

• Unloading letters and parcels from delivery lorries
• Moving mail safely around our sorting centres and warehouses
• Helping sort letters and parcels quickly and accurately

We have a variety of shift patterns available at Leeds Mail Centre, Leodis House, Leodis Way, LEEDS, LS10 1AZ, including the following core shift patterns:

Please note, night shifts are not available to applicants under 18 years old.

Depending on location, you may have access to facilities such as on-site canteens, break areas, social spaces and subsidised gym facilities.

What you'll need to join the team

You don't need any previous warehouse operative, mail or parcel sorting experience. We're looking for people who:

• Have a positive attitude and team spirit.
• Are organised and able to work independently and as part of a team in a busy environment.
• Enjoy active, hands-on work, including working on your feet, pushing / pulling trolleys (up to 250kg with wheels!), and handling items up to 11kg.
• Are flexible and happy to switch tasks when needed.
