Job summary

Royal Mail is hiring a Seasonal Mail Sorter at Norwich sites during the Christmas peak. No previous experience required; you’ll handle letters and parcels, stand and walk for long periods, and join a busy warehouse team.

The role offers weekend shifts with various patterns; night shifts are not available to applicants under 18. On-site facilities may be available at Norwich locations.

Pay rate: hourly rate is dependent on the shift pattern you’re offered

Location: Norwich Mail Centre, Norwich, NR1 1AA and Norwich Outhouse, Norwich, NR6 6AG

‘Tis the season to be earning a little extra

As a Seasonal Mail Sorter, you’ll help process millions of cards, gifts, and parcels during our busiest time of year. Your duties will include:

• Unloading letters and parcels from delivery lorries
• Moving mail safely around our sorting centres and warehouses
• Helping sort letters and parcels quickly and accurately

We have a variety of shift patterns, including the following core shift patterns, available at

Norwich Outhouse, 23 Vulcan Rd S, NORWICH, NR6 6AG

• Weekends: Various shifts available (as above p/h) - Norwich Mail Centre only

Please note, night shifts are not available to applicants under 18 years old.

Depending on location, you may have access to facilities such as on-site canteens, break areas, social spaces and subsidised gym facilities.

What you’ll need to join the team

You don’t need any previous warehouse operative, mail or parcel sorting experience. We’re looking for people who:

• Have a positive attitude and team spirit.
• Are organised and able to work independently and as part of a team in a busy environment.
• Enjoy active, hands‑on work, including working on your feet, pushing / pulling trolleys (up to 250kg with wheels!), and handling items up to 11kg.
• Are flexible and happy to switch tasks when needed.
