Job summary

idverde is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Operative in Barnsley to support the busy summer season. You will keep green spaces in excellent condition through grass cutting, mowing, strimming, pruning and border maintenance, plus litter picking and related horticultural tasks.

Starting ASAP on a seasonal two‑month contract with 7:00–14:30 hours Monday to Friday. A valid UK manual licence and a safety‑mocussed attitude are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous Grounds Maintenance experience is highly advantageous.
• A full UK manual driving licence is essential.
• Enhanced DBS check completed prior to starting.
• PA1 and PA6 licenses are preferred, but not essential.
• Can-do attitude and safety-conscious mindset.

Responsibilities

• Perform grass cutting using ride-on and pedestrian mowers.
• Carry out strimming, pruning, weeding and shrub/border maintenance.
• Handle litter picking and other related horticultural duties.
• Maintain multiple green spaces to a high standard during the season.
• Work safely outdoors in all weather conditions.
