Job summary

idverde is seeking a Team Leader to supervise a small grounds maintenance crew around Burton-upon-Trent. You will coordinate grass cutting, hedge trimming, shrub maintenance, and litter picking with a focus on quality and safety.

Training to a high standard will be provided in a supportive environment. The role requires previous grounds maintenance experience, a valid UK driving licence, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather.

Qualifications

• Experience in grounds maintenance and leading a small crew.
• Strong safety mindset and ability to enforce standards.
• Valid UK driving licence is essential.
• PA1 and PA6 licences are an advantage.

Job description

Working hours: Monday - Friday 07:00 - 16:30, starting in January 2027

About the role

As a Team Leader you will be supervising your small team and working alongside them to provide various grounds maintenance services in and around Burton-upon-Trent: grass cutting (ride on and pedestrian), strimming, shrub and border maintenance, hedge cutting, litter picking. Requirements

• Prior experience within Grounds Maintenance with a can-do attitude and safety-conscious mindset
• Previous experience in a Team Leader or Supervisor position within Grounds Maintenance or a similar industry
• Ensure all tasks are completed to the required standard, with a good eye for detail.
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• The ability to be able to work independently but also as part of a wider team
• Proficient in problem solving and dealing with complex situations
• Reliable, energetic and enthusiastic with a determined, flexible and "can-do" attitude
• A full valid UK driving licence is essential
• PA1 and PA6 licences are an advantage
