Job summary

Speedy Freight is seeking a Scrum Master to keep our engineering team moving in the North West hybrid environment. You’ll partner with the Head of Technology, Head of Product, and development team to keep sprints on track, remove blockers, and continuously improve delivery.

Lead all Scrum ceremonies, protect the team from interruptions, ensure work entering a sprint is ready, and maintain delivery metrics in Azure DevOps/Jira.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Scrum Master within a commercial software development environment.
• Strong understanding of Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid agile delivery frameworks.
• Experience facilitating cross-functional engineering teams.
• Hands-on experience using Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar delivery management tools.
• Scrum Master certification (PSM, CSM, or equivalent) is desirable.
• Experience within logistics, freight, or a fast-paced technology business is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Lead all Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Keep sprint delivery on track by protecting the team from unnecessary interruptions and scope creep.
• Remove blockers quickly and elevate delivery risks before they impact deadlines.
• Ensure work entering a sprint is ready and completed work meets agreed standards.
• Maintain accurate sprint boards and delivery data within Azure DevOps.
• Track key engineering performance metrics, including DORA metrics, and support delivery reporting.
• Coach developers in agile best practice and help drive continuous improvement across the team.
• Work closely with Product and Technology leaders to ensure smooth sprint planning and delivery.
