Job summary

Ampa is seeking a Scrum Master for a 12 month fixed-term contract across the Applications & Development portfolio. You will facilitate agile ceremonies, coach teams and support Product Owners to prioritise backlogs, ensuring alignment with business outcomes and standards.

Location is flexible with a blended approach—attending hub spaces 3-4 times per month as project meetings require, and collaborating with stakeholders across the UK.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as Scrum Master or agile delivery role on complex technical projects.
• Lead and coach high‑performing scrum teams with strong stakeholder engagement.
• Experience with backlog refinement, prioritisation and agile ceremonies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate agile ceremonies across Applications & Development teams.
• Support Product Owners to prioritise and refine backlogs to meet outcomes.
• Coach teams to improve agile practices and delivery effectiveness.
• Act as liaison between technical teams, Product Owners, Architecture and PMO.
• Support change, release and governance processes in the SDLC.
• Develop delivery metrics, dashboards and reporting on progress.

Scrum Master - 12 month FTC

Team: Applications and Development

Location: We have a blended work to your diary approach where we flex where, when and how we work, with attendance at our hub spaces 3 or 4 times a month – as project meetings and client need requires.

Role Context

The Scrum Master is responsible for facilitating and coaching one or more scrum teams within the Applications & Development function. The role supports the delivery of continuous improvement, system enhancements and new application capabilities across the application landscape, ensuring agile principles are applied effectively and consistently.

Role Purpose

• Lead and facilitate agile ceremonies across Applications & Development teams, supporting both business‑as‑usual delivery and change initiatives
• Support Product Owners and delivery leads to prioritise, refine and manage backlogs in line with business outcomes and strategic objectives
• Coach scrum teams to adopt and continuously improve agile practices, adapting approaches where necessary to maximise delivery effectiveness
• Act as a key liaison between technical teams, Product Owners, Architecture, Business Change and PMO to ensure clarity of goals, dependencies and delivery quality
• Support change, release and governance processes as part of the end‑to‑end software development lifecycle
• Constructively challenge requirements, delivery plans and proposed technical solutions to ensure they are well‑defined, achievable and aligned to standards

What you will be doing:

• Develop a strong understanding of the applications, platforms, integrations and roadmaps within the Applications & Development portfolio
• Maintain effective and consistent agile ceremonies and delivery cadence
• Create and maintain meaningful delivery metrics, dashboards and reporting
• Lead daily scrums and promote transparency around progress, risks and blockers
• Build strong, collaborative relationships with team members and stakeholders

What you will need:

A minimum of 2 years’ demonstrable experience working as a Scrum Master or in a similar agile delivery role, supporting the delivery of complex technical or service‑based solutions.

• Leading and supporting high‑performing scrum teams
• Introducing or improving agile maturity within an organisation
• Backlog management and business requirements prioritisation techniques
• Scrum and Agile principles and frameworks
• Delivery metrics, reporting and visualisation of progress and outcomes
• Azure DevOps or equivalent tooling
• Stakeholder engagement and communication across technical and non‑technical audiences

• Case management systems or low‑code platforms (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar)
• Azure Services
• C#, .NET, ASP.NET
• MS SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, T‑SQL

• Ability to produce high‑quality delivery and technical artefacts that demonstrate business value
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to assess, coach and mentor teams and individuals
• Strong relationship‑building skills with colleagues, stakeholders and delivery partners
• Ability to remain objective, troubleshoot effectively and apply agile principles pragmatically
• Confidence interacting with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior leaders and subject matter experts
