Job description

Provn are proud to be partnered with a well-established asset management business as they look to hire a Scrum Master to join their Technology function in Edinburgh.

Our client is a regulated investments business that's early in a genuine Agile transformation, having begun moving away from traditional ways of working only last year. Rather than inheriting a mature, highly structured Agile estate, this is a chance to help build it - working alongside a Head of Development who's committed to establishing real Agile disciplines across both Technology and the wider business. The organisation is lean and relatively flat, which means direct exposure to senior decision-makers and genuine visibility over the impact you have.

You'll work closely with Technology Product Owners, Technology Leads and Business stakeholders -facilitating ceremonies, coaching teams and stakeholders on Agile principles, and helping the business take more ownership from a product perspective. Team sizes are deliberately kept small, so this is a role built around real closeness to the work, not managing ceremonies across a large portfolio.

This suits a Scrum Master or Agile Coach who wants to build and shape an Agile environment from an early stage - coaching, challenging, and evolving practices as the organisation matures - rather than someone looking to operate within an already-mature enterprise Agile machine.

Key Responsibilities
  • Help embed Agile and Scrum practices across technology and the wider business
  • Coach Product Owners, developers and business stakeholders on Agile principles and ways of working
  • Facilitate core Scrum ceremonies and make sure they're purposeful and well run, not just diary fixtures
  • Support backlog management, prioritisation and sprint planning alongside Product Owners
  • Spot and remove blockers that get in the way of delivery
  • Keep progress, risks and dependencies visible through clear, honest reporting
  • Feed insight back into how the team and organisation can work more effectively
  • Support wider resourcing and capacity conversations as needed
  • Build strong working relationships across delivery teams and business stakeholders
Role Requirements
  • Strong grounding in Scrum and Agile frameworks, backed by real delivery experience
  • A track record of introducing or improving Agile practice, not just operating within an existing setup
  • Confident facilitation and coaching skills
  • Strong communication and the ability to influence people at all levels, including senior stakeholders
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and helping shape something that's still evolving
Preferred Experience
  • Background in financial services or another regulated industry
  • Exposure to specialist investment or trading systems alongside a broadly Microsoft-based technology environment
  • Experience helping build Agile ways of working from an earlier stage of maturity
  • Ongoing engagement with the wider Agile community
Why Apply
  • A genuine opportunity to help shape how Agile is adopted, not inherit a mature framework
  • Small, close-knit team structure with real influence over how it evolves
  • Low hierarchy - direct access to senior stakeholders and visible impact
  • Broad exposure across the technology and business side of an investment management firm
Benefits
  • Incredibly competitive package
