Main duties of the job

As an integral member of the Bi Borough KCW School Health Service, you will be responsible for delivering the Healthy Child Programme in collaboration with the wider school health team. Our team includes Clinical Nurse Specialists for Emotional Health & Mental Health Well-being, a Relationship and Sexual Education Team Lead, and RSHE specialist workers. We offer excellent professional development opportunities, along with formal one-to-one supervision and annual appraisal.

Job description
Job responsibilities
  1. Work in partnership with educational staff, healthcare professionals, and other agencies to provide advice and support to children & young people, their parents, and carers as required.
  2. Undertake relevant training and updates related to public health issues to meet local and national Department of Health targets such as immunisations, teenage pregnancy & sexual health, smoking cessation, and obesity.
  3. Conduct training sessions for other professionals on relevant health or medical issues and assist children and young people in managing their own health conditions independently.
  4. Perform health assessments on children & young people, ensuring referrals, treatments, and reviews are carried out as per policies and procedures.
  5. Develop high-quality care packages for children & young people with medical needs, collaborating with other health professionals, education staff, parents, and carers.
  6. Identify children & young people requiring medical follow-up planning.

  • RGN / RSCN
