Job overview

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic SCPHN-School Nurse with excellent communication and leadership skills, to join our dynamic team of Specialist Public Health Nurses, School Health Nurses, Child Health and Well-being Assistants, and School Health Assistants. The post holder will be expected to cover schools in the Buckingham Area and surrounding villages towards Aylesbury.

This is an all-year-round post only, and term time only will not be possible. Part time of 30 hours will be considered.

Main duties of the job

You will promote and support the health of school-age children and their families (Healthy Child Programme 5-19 years old) by using Health for Teens/Kids and Chat health as a means to increase our digital presence.

You will be aware of the current issues impacting health and the changes affecting the school nursing service.

You will understand the importance of partnership and teamwork as well as being able to work independently.

You will have leadership skills and be able to manage a skill mix team, supporting them to develop and being involved in progressing the service.

Self-development is encouraged, and mentoring support and supervision are available. A car driver and current licence are essential.
