Job description

Paediatric Retrieval Service Nurse and Operational Lead

The Paediatric Retrieval Service is part of the Specialist Transport and Retrieval Service for Scotland – ScotSTAR, which includes the Scottish Neonatal Transport Service, the Scottish Paediatric Retrieval Service, the Emergency Medical Retrieval Service (EMRS), and the Air Ambulance Service. Managed by the Scottish Ambulance Service, ScotSTAR handles approximately 3,000 transfers annually, primarily using dedicated road ambulances, with some transfers conducted via fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft provided by the Air Ambulance Service. The teams comprise experienced transport nurses, ANNPs, Nurse Consultants, Transport Fellows, and Consultant Neonatologists.

We are seeking to expand our nursing workforce and are looking for a highly motivated individual to join the team. The position is a Band 7 role, where the post holder will provide high-quality care to children and their families. Candidates should have extensive paediatric intensive care and retrieval experience. This vacancy also offers an opportunity for the Operational Lead position within the Paediatric team, with specific managerial responsibilities.
