Job summary

Dains Scotland in Glasgow is seeking an experienced HR Advisor to support our expanding regional operations across three businesses, with around 200 employees. You will act as the trusted HR contact for colleagues, managers, Directors and Partners, collaborating with our central HR team in the Midlands.

You will handle employee relations, onboarding, policies and HR processes with discretion and resilience, while aligning local practice with group standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in a HR advisory role across multi-site/multi-business environments.
• Strong understanding of employee relations, HR policies and employment law, with practical application.
• Confidence using HR systems, Microsoft Office and reporting tools to maintain records and HR data.
• CIPD qualification or equivalent HR experience would be desirable.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary HR contact for Scotland, supporting three businesses and ~200 employees across diverse people matters.
• Advise and coach managers on employee relations, performance, attendance, wellbeing and day-to-day people management.
• Build relationships with employees, managers, Directors and Partners while aligning local priorities with group standards.
• Manage and support formal HR processes, including investigations and hearings, with professionalism and discretion.
• Support onboarding and induction to ensure a positive, consistent start for new colleagues.
• Collaborate with central HR on projects and initiatives to ensure Scottish businesses are represented.
• Provide guidance to managers on goal setting, development planning and performance reviews.
• Support learning and development locally with the L&D Manager and Dains Learning platform.
• Promote consistent application of HR policies, procedures and employment laws.
• Monitor people trends and provide insights to support decision making.
