Job summary

National Centre for Social Research (NatCen) in Glasgow is seeking a Field Interviewer for part-time work. You will conduct in-home interviews across health, housing, transport and daily life topics, visiting participants in your local area.

The role prioritises listening and accurate data collection with a supportive training program and travel allowance. Extensive route planning and a defined patch are provided; travel time is paid on many projects, with mileage reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Good verbal and written English proficiency.
• Ability to engage with diverse participants.
• Comfort with fieldwork and home visits.

Responsibilities

• Visit people in their local area to conduct in-home interviews.
• Record responses accurately using a NatCen device.
• Communicate with warmth, respect and active listening.
• Plan routes and manage a defined patch with possible travel.
• Assist with DBS process and basic tech setup as needed.
