Job summary

NatCen invites applications for Field Interviewer to conduct in-home interviews across Scotland. You will visit participants in their local area, recording experiences on issues like health, housing, transport and everyday life.

This role emphasizes listening, empathy and building trust with respondents. You’ll receive full training before working independently, with travel time paid and mileage reimbursed.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal & written English.
• Ability to build rapport and listen carefully.
• Reliable and independent worker.
• Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to complete a DBS check and checks as required.

Responsibilities

• Visit participants in their homes for in-home interviews.
• Record responses accurately and thoroughly.
• Plan routes and manage travel within the assigned area.
• Ensure interviews are conducted with warmth, respect and integrity.
• Maintain precise documentation for research purposes.
