Job summary

Brenntag is seeking a Commercial Manager to lead the Scotland supply chain, procurement and stock control across Glasgow and surrounding depots. You will partner with sales, product management and operations to maximise profitability and service levels while controlling working capital.

The role requires strategic thinking, strong supplier relationships, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in purchasing processes, stock accuracy and OTIF delivery.

Qualifications

• Previous experience leading supply chain, procurement or stock control in a target-driven environment.
• Proven leadership experience with responsibility for team management and development.
• Strong commercial acumen and understanding of operating in a profit-driven business.
• Experience managing supplier relationships and procurement activities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to analyse performance data and implement corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end supply chain function across the Scotland region.
• Coordinate stock purchases through existing supplier contracts and procurement agreements.
• Manage import purchasing activities where required.
• Work closely with Product Management to support stock availability across the UK network.
• Develop and maintain efficient purchasing processes that support business objectives.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve procurement performance and supplier value.
• Promote stock control and inventory management best practices.
• Provide leadership to Stock Control teams across Glasgow and Perth.
• Collaborate with depot teams regarding stock procurement and stock transfers.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve inventory accuracy and performance.
