Job summary

SSE plc's SSEN Transmission is seeking experienced Land Managers to secure land rights for 400kV projects across Scotland. You'll prepare wayleaves, liaise with landowners, assess impacts on land and businesses, and negotiate servitudes and compensation.

The role combines land agent expertise with large-scale utility projects, with 50% of time in the office at Perth, Inverness or Aberdeen, and a clear path to develop stakeholder management and project leadership.

Qualifications

• Good understanding of landownership systems in Scotland.
• Experience with wayleaves, servitudes, land acquisition and compensation principles.
• Ability to project manage the production of wayleaves and compulsory purchase orders.
• Strong stakeholder management and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Prepare wayleaves and compulsory purchase orders.
• Liaise with landowners and occupiers over proposed route and site selection.
• Assess the impact of infrastructure on land and businesses.
• Negotiate wayleaves or servitudes and ensure fair compensation.
• Balance agreements to support project delivery.
