Job summary

SSEN Transmission in Scotland is seeking experienced Land Managers to support nationally significant projects, securing land rights for 400kV lines, cables and substations. The role is based from Perth, Inverness or Aberdeen with a 50% office presence and flexible first options.

You will prepare wayleaves and compulsory purchase orders, negotiate terms with landowners, assess infrastructure impact on land and businesses, and manage compensation discussions to ensure fairness for all parties.

Qualifications

• Understanding of landownership systems in Scotland and land management practices.
• Experience with wayleaves, servitudes, land acquisition and compensation principles.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to project manage production of wayleaves and compulsory purchase orders.

Responsibilities

• Prepare necessary wayleaves and compulsory purchase orders.
• Liaise with landowners and occupiers over proposed route and site selection.
• Assess the impact of infrastructure on land and businesses.
• Negotiate wayleaves or servitudes and ensure best practice in land management.
• Lead valuation and compensation discussions to ensure fairness.
