Job summary

Development Project Manager at SSE is based in Scotland with 50% office attendance in Perth, Inverness or Aberdeen. You will oversee large infrastructure projects ranging from £10 million to £1 billion, guiding them from feasibility to design and early planning stages.

You'll lead multi-disciplinary teams, manage budgets, and coordinate stakeholders to deliver safe, compliant projects that align with SSE's network strategy and sustainability goals.

Qualifications

• Experience of project development through optioneering and initial design phases.
• Ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams across planning, tenders and design.
• Experience of managing budgets (£10M+) and understanding of the electrical network.
• Knowledge of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
• Experience with NEC3 contracts, especially engineering, construction and professional services.

Responsibilities

• Identify and form teams to deliver projects through construction phase.
• Lead feasibility studies, route and design work, land rights and planning.
• Manage programmes, costs, resources and governance.
• Build relationships with contractors, stakeholders and communities.
• Maintain safety, health and environmental performance.
