Purpose

The role of Scientist II involves performing and leading technical projects within the Material Sciences team, focusing on rheology and other physical characterization techniques. You will execute, develop methods, and manage analytical projects, often large and complex, possibly across multiple departments, regions, or countries.

You will collaborate with team members to perform analyses, report findings, and ensure standards are met. Knowledge of rheology, sample preparation, and chemistry is essential. You will perform routine and investigative analyses, influence project directions, interact with clients, and present findings to stakeholders. Training junior staff and reviewing technical work are also part of the role.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure high-quality customer service and accurate reporting.
  • Perform routine and investigative analyses, including rheology.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
  • Interpret data and generate reports.
  • Present results internally and externally.
  • Use relevant software such as LIMS and Q-Pulse.
  • Train and supervise junior staff.
  • Manage specific projects and laboratory administration.
  • Work across laboratories as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree in a relevant scientific discipline with at least 3 years of industry or laboratory experience.
  • Proven experience with rheological techniques and physical properties testing.
Additional Information
  • Travel may be required to support manufacturing sites.
