Job summary

Proclinical Staffing is seeking a Scientist to join the Injectable Formulation Development team on a 12-month contract in Slough, UK. You will work on monoclonal antibodies and next-generation biologics, supporting from early toxicology through late-stage clinical development.

You will conduct lab-based studies on protein characterisation, formulation development, and stability assessment, delivering data to support non-clinical and clinical programmes while advancing formulation platforms for

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences or related
• Minimum of three years' relevant laboratory experience in industry or academia
• Experience with protein and antibody analysis techniques (HPLC/UPLC, iCE, UV spectroscopy, DLS, CGE, Rheology, MFI)
• Strong data analysis and interpretation skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic team
• Exposure to laboratory automation technologies
• Knowledge of monoclonal antibody development and stability assessment

Responsibilities

• Conduct formulation and analytical studies to support biologics development programmes

• Support pre-formulation and formulation development activities in the laboratory
• Contribute to laboratory organisation, resource management, and technical support activities
• Author protocols, technical reports, and supporting documentation

Proclinical is working alongside a globally recognised biopharmaceutical organisation dedicated to advancing innovative therapies for patients living with serious and chronic diseases. As part of continued investment within their development sciences function, they are seeking a Scientist to join their Injectable Formulation Development team on a 12-month contract basis.

This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the development of monoclonal antibody and next-generation biologic therapies, supporting programmes from early toxicology studies through to late-stage clinical development. Working within a highly collaborative environment, you will partner with cross-functional teams across CMC Development, Analytical Sciences, and Clinical Development to help deliver high-quality formulations for a diverse biologics pipeline.

As a Scientist within Injectable Formulation Development, you will undertake laboratory-based studies focused on protein and antibody characterisation, formulation development, and stability assessment. You'll play a key role in generating data that supports both non-clinical and clinical programmes whilst helping to advance formulation platforms for novel biologic modalities.

This position would suit an individual who thrives in a fast-paced R&D environment and enjoys combining hands-on laboratory work with scientific problem-solving and data interpretation.

Key Skills and Requirements:

• MSc or PhD in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related discipline
• Minimum of three years' relevant laboratory experience within an industrial or academic setting
• Experience with protein and antibody analysis techniques such as: HPLC / UPLC, iCE, UV Spectroscopy, Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), Capillary Gel Electrophoresis (CGE), Rheology, Microflow Imaging (MFI) or sub-visible particle analysis
• Strong data analysis and interpretation skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities within a dynamic team environment
• Exposure to laboratory automation technologies
• Knowledge of monoclonal antibody development and stability assessment
