Job summary

Blackfield Associates is supporting a leading pharmaceutical company in Slough, seeking a Scientist - Antibody Formulation Development for a 12-month contract. You will work on enabling studies from non-clinical to Phase III, performing experiments and supporting pre-formulation and formulation activities.

The role requires a Masters or PhD in Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Biology with at least 3 years' lab experience and strong experience in antibody analysis (HPLC/UPLC, iCE, UV, DLS, CGE,

Qualifications

• Masters or PhD in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biology or equivalent with a strong lab track record.
• Minimum 3 years of laboratory experience in biotechnology/biopharma settings.
• Experience with antibody analysis and formulation development is highly advantageous.
• High numeracy and ability to critically evaluate data.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills; team-oriented

Responsibilities

• Perform experiments and analyses to support non-clinical and clinical studies.
• Support pre-formulation and formulation activities and lab setup.
• Author formulation protocols and reports with a deep understanding of antibody degradation routes.
• Present results to the team and stakeholders

Job description

We are currently supporting a leading pharmaceutical company with an opportunity for a Scientist - Antibody Formulation Development to join their team in Slough on a 12-month contract.

This team plays a key role in supporting programmes from toxicology through to Phase III clinical studies.

Responsibilities

• Performing experiments/analyses and other enabling studies to support non-clinical and clinical studies
• Supporting pre-formulation and formulation laboratory activities which include laboratory set-up and provision of technical resources
• Authoring formulation protocols, reports and supporting documentation, based on a deep understanding of biochemical or physical degradation routes of antibody-derived molecules.
• Presentation of results

Skills and experience

• Applicants should have a Masters (or equivalent) or PhD in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biology or similar, with a demonstrated minimum of 3 years' laboratory experience, knowledge and application of new and developing technologies
• Applicants should have a good experience in protein/antibody analysis (HPLC /UPLC, iCE, UV spectroscopy, DLS, CGE, rheology, MFI) with experience in formulation development and/or automation seen as an advantage.
• High level of numeracy and the ability to critically evaluate data.
• Ability to work in a busy team environment with changing priorities.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
