Job summary

Blackfield Associates is seeking a Scientist - Antibody Formulation Development to join our client in Slough on a 12-month contract. The role supports programmes from non-clinical through Phase III studies.

Responsibilities include conducting experiments, supporting formulation lab activities, authoring protocols and reports, and presenting results. Candidates should hold a Masters/PhD with 3+ years in the field and have strong analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Masters or PhD in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biology or related field with at least 3 years of lab experience.
• Experience in protein/antibody analysis using HPLC/UPLC, iCE, UV spectroscopy, DLS, CGE, rheology or MFI.
• Formulation development experience or automation is advantageous.
• Strong numeracy and data critical evaluation skills.
• Ability to work in a busy team with changing priorities.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Right to work in the UK.

We are currently supporting a leading pharmaceutical company with an opportunity for a Scientist - Antibody Formulation Development to join their team in Slough on a 12-month contract.

This team plays a key role in supporting programmes from toxicology through to Phase III clinical studies.

Responsibilities

• - Performing experiments/analyses and other enabling studies to support non-clinical and clinical studies
• - Supporting pre-formulation and formulation laboratory activities which include laboratory set-up and provision of technical resources
• - Authoring formulation protocols, reports and supporting documentation, based on a deep understanding of biochemical or physical degradation routes of antibody-derived molecules.
• - Presentation of results

Skills and experience

• - Applicants should have a Masters (or equivalent) or PhD in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biology or similar, with a demonstrated minimum of 3 years' laboratory experience, knowledge and application of new and developing technologies
• - Applicants should have a good experience in protein/antibody analysis (HPLC /UPLC, iCE, UV spectroscopy, DLS, CGE, rheology, MFI) with experience in formulation development and/or automation seen as an advantage.
• - High level of numeracy and the ability to critically evaluate data.
• - Ability to work in a busy team environment with changing priorities.
• - Excellent communication and organisational skills.
