Job summary

Blackfield Associates is supporting a leading pharmaceutical company in Slough for a Scientist - Antibody Formulation Development on a 12-month contract. The role focuses on enabling studies and formulation activities across non-clinical to Phase III projects, with a strong emphasis on data interpretation and presentation.

Qualifications

• Masters or PhD in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biology or similar with at least 3 years laboratory experience.
• Experience in protein/antibody analysis (HPLC/UPLC, iCE, UV spectroscopy, DLS, CGE, rheology, MFI) and formulation development preferred.
• Strong numeracy and data interpretation skills.
• Ability to work in a busy team with changing priorities and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform experiments and analyses to support non-clinical and clinical studies.
• Support pre-formulation and formulation lab activities including setup and resource provision.
• Author formulation protocols and reports based on knowledge of antibody degradation routes.
• Present results to the team.

We are currently supporting a leading pharmaceutical company with an opportunity for a Scientist - Antibody Formulation Development to join their team in Slough on a 12-month contract.

This team plays a key role in supporting programmes from toxicology through to Phase III clinical studies.

Responsibilities

• - Performing experiments/analyses and other enabling studies to support non-clinical and clinical studies
• - Supporting pre-formulation and formulation laboratory activities which include laboratory set-up and provision of technical resources
• - Authoring formulation protocols, reports and supporting documentation, based on a deep understanding of biochemical or physical degradation routes of antibody-derived molecules.
• - Presentation of results

Skills and experience

• - Applicants should have a Masters (or equivalent) or PhD in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biology or similar, with a demonstrated minimum of 3 years' laboratory experience, knowledge and application of new and developing technologies
• - Applicants should have a good experience in protein/antibody analysis (HPLC /UPLC, iCE, UV spectroscopy, DLS, CGE, rheology, MFI) with experience in formulation development and/or automation seen as an advantage.
• - High level of numeracy and the ability to critically evaluate data.
• - Ability to work in a busy team environment with changing priorities.
• - Excellent communication and organisational skills.
