Job title: Scientific Services Manager - Synergy

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £52,000 - 55,000 per annum + Bonus

Synergy is seeking a Scientific Services Manager to join a global pharmaceutical company based in Oxford. The role involves managing on-site scientific services, laboratory operations, and a team of research and lab assistants. Responsibilities include overseeing laboratory standards, safety, quality, continuous improvement, and team management.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Line management of research team, including performance reviews, development, and wellbeing support.
  2. Manage daily laboratory operations, ensuring readiness, safety, and compliance.
  3. Coordinate procurement and inventory of lab supplies.
  4. Develop and enforce SOPs, risk assessments, and safety policies.
  5. Lead continuous improvement initiatives in the lab.
  6. Communicate with stakeholders and escalate issues as needed.
Essential Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a scientific discipline.
  • Significant laboratory experience and team management skills.
  • Experience with LIMS, safety regulations, SOPs, and risk assessments.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
