Job summary

Abbexa in Bar Hill, near Cambridge, is seeking a Scientific Data Specialist to manage product data, support customers by email and phone, and coordinate with partners to keep information up to date.

You will manipulate large Excel sheets, prepare datasheets and manuals, and help improve front- and back-end data processes. A life sciences degree and proficiency in Excel are essential, with a proactive, accuracy-focused mindset.

Qualifications

• Life sciences degree (BSc, MRes, MSc, PhD) or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of laboratory techniques (WB, IHC, ELISA etc.)
• Capable of methodical problem solving and ability to identify patterns
• Fluent in English both written and spoken
• Experience with Office Suite (particularly Excel)
• Experience with programming language (e.g. Python)
• Ecommerce platform experience

Responsibilities

• Liaising with channel partners and colleagues to obtain latest product information
• Manipulating large Excel sheets using formulas and macros
• Ensuring product data on our website is up to date, accurate and complete
• Creating product lists for marketing and distributors as required
• Supporting members of staff with product documentation including datasheets and manuals
• Reviewing customer feedback and suggesting relevant improvements
• Providing scientific technical support and supporting customers via email and phone with any queries
• Provide pre-sales customer support to a wide range of clients and customers
• Liaising promptly with multiple departments to ensure smooth service
• Suggesting automation and/or improvements for front and back end processes and functionality
