Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a GCSE Science Tutor to support learners in the BCP area through personalised 1:1 tuition. You will work on behalf of Local Authorities to help vulnerable learners reconnect with education and prepare for GCSE success.

This flexible role focuses on delivering engaging GCSE Science sessions, adapting to individual needs and ensuring progress in science knowledge and confidence.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting (tutoring/teaching/mentoring).
• Strong knowledge of Science suitable for GCSE.
• Ability to deliver engaging, personalised GCSE Science sessions.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Willingness to obtain Enhanced DBS (Update Service).
• Access to a vehicle or willing to travel locally.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 GCSE Science tuition to learners.
• Support vulnerable learners across the BCP area with personalised sessions.
• Tailor lessons to individual needs and SEND considerations.
• Collaborate with Local Authorities as required.

Do you enjoy helping students unlock their potential in Science? We're looking for GCSE Science Tutors to support children and young people across the BCP area through personalised 1:1 tuition.

Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll support vulnerable learners who require alternative educational provision. Many of the students we work with have experienced barriers to learning and benefit from tailored support that helps them reconnect with education, increase their confidence, and prepare for GCSE success.

This is a flexible opportunity that allows you to use your educational experience to make a real impact on a student's academic journey.

• Pay Rate: 25- 30 per hour

Requirements

• Minimum 6 months' experience working in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistance, mentoring, learning support, or similar roles
• Strong Science subject knowledge
• Ability to deliver engaging and personalised GCSE Science sessions
• Experience supporting learners with SEND is desirable
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Patient, adaptable, and supportive approach
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
• Access to a vehicle is beneficial; alternatively, willingness to travel within your local area
