Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a QTS-qualified Science Tutor to support children and young people across Southampton and the surrounding Hampshire areas through personalised 1:1 tuition. Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you’ll help learners re-engage with learning and achieve positive outcomes in Science.

This is a flexible, impact-focused role for qualified teachers who want direct support for individual learners.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent required.
• Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting, including teaching or tutoring.
• Strong Science knowledge up to GCSE.
• Experience supporting students with SEND, EHCPs or additional needs is desirable.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills; DBS Update Service preferred or willingness to obtain one.

About the Role

We're looking for a QTS-qualified Science Tutor to support children and young people across Southampton and the surrounding Hampshire areas through personalised 1:1 tuition.

Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll help learners who require alternative educational provision, supporting them to build confidence, re-engage with learning, and achieve positive outcomes in Science. Many students have experienced disruption to their education and benefit from a tailored approach that meets their individual needs.

This is a great opportunity for qualified teachers seeking a more flexible role where they can focus on making a direct impact with individual learners.

Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
