Parmiter's School in the United Kingdom is seeking a part-time Science Technician to support Biology, Chemistry and Physics teaching staff. The Science Block offers 12 high-specification labs and bespoke preparation rooms across three floors.
A science degree or equivalent qualification is required, with strong communication and organisational skills. Training will be provided; Thursday availability is essential.
The Science Technicians are an integral part of the faculty, providing valuable support to the Biology, Chemistry and Physics teaching staff. The Science Block is a new, purpose-built building with 12 high-specification teaching laboratories and bespoke preparation rooms on each of its 3 floors. Ofsted (2024) commented "Pupils' enthusiasm and excitement towards their learning is evident…Pupils conduct and manners are exemplary. They help and support their peers to do well. It is common practice to hold doors open for others and behave in a friendly, courteous manner. Adults enforce clear learning routines. Pupils sensibly transition between activities".
An excellent opportunity to join our vibrant Science Faculty. The ideal candidate will have a Science degree or equivalent qualification and a keen interest in Science. Previous experience of working as a Science technician or in a similar role would be advantageous but is not essential as full training can be provided. Strong communication and organisational skills are key to this position.
The role is offered as part-time, working 21 hours per week during the school term time and INSET days. We can provide some flexibility in the working pattern; however, the successful candidate must be available to work on Thursdays. We can offer:
