Job summary

Parkside School is seeking a dedicated Science Technician to provide technical support across the Science department, ensuring a safe and inspiring learning environment. The role involves preparing equipment, supporting teachers, and managing stock and deliveries.

Candidates should have GCSE English and Maths (A*-C) or a Level 2 equivalent, strong organisational and IT skills, and a commitment to safeguarding young people. Closing date 9 October 2027.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths (Grades A*-C / 9-4) or equivalent Level 2 qualification.
• Sound understanding of Health and Safety standards and safe chemical storage.
• Proficient IT skills and ability to support practical science lessons.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, set up and clear away specialist equipment and teaching resources for lessons.
• Maintain Health and Safety standards in prep rooms and laboratories (CLEAPSS/COSHH).
• Assist teachers during practical lessons and provide 1:1 support to students.
• Oversee stock control, place orders for consumables and manage deliveries.
• Support school life by coaching small groups and assisting with exam invigilation.
