Job summary

Aston Education Ltd is seeking a Science Technician for a large Ofsted Good 11-18 secondary school in Lewisham. This temporary post runs 35 hours per week (08:00-16:00, Mon-Fri) for 42.9 paid weeks a year, with a permanent role possible for the right candidate.

The role focuses on providing technical support to the Science department, preparing and maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe, well-equipped learning environment for students and staff.

Qualifications

• GCSEs (or equivalent) in Science and Mathematics.
• Health & Safety training, COSHH awareness and CLEAPSS guidance.
• Degree in Science is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to the Science department, ensuring equipment and resources are ready for lessons.
• Prepare, maintain, and organise practical equipment and materials for lessons.
• Support the safe use of laboratories in line with health and safety guidelines.
