Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a Science Technician for a secondary school in Merton. The role is full-time, 5 days per week, supporting science teaching and ensuring practical lessons are well prepared, safe and engaging.

A degree in a relevant scientific subject is preferred; strong organisational and practical skills are expected. You will prepare experiments, support staff, maintain laboratories and stock, and assist with health and safety.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Science Technician in a school or scientific environment.
• Degree in a relevant scientific subject preferred.
• Ability to prepare and set up practical experiments and materials.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up practical experiments, equipment and materials for lessons
• Provide technical support to teachers and students during practical activities
• Maintain and organise laboratories, equipment and scientific resources
• Ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times
• Manage stock levels and order equipment and consumables when required
• Support the smooth day-to-day running of the Science Department
• Assist with the maintenance and safe storage of chemicals and equipment
