Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking an experienced Science Technician to join a welcoming secondary school in Merton. This full-time role supports teaching and learning in the Science Department, ensuring practical lessons are well prepared, safe and engaging.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in practical science, with a degree in a relevant subject preferred, and excellent organisation and hands-on skills.

• Experience as a Science Technician in a school or laboratory.
• Strong organisation and practical skills for prep and safe storage.
• Degree in a relevant scientific subject preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up practical experiments, equipment and materials for lessons.
• Provide technical support to teachers and students during practical activities.
• Maintain and organise laboratories, equipment and resources.
• Ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
• Manage stock levels and order equipment and consumables as needed.
• Support the smooth day-to-day running of the Science Department.
• Assist with maintenance and safe storage of chemicals and equipment.

Science Technician | Full-Time | Merton

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Science Technician to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Merton.

This is a full-time, 5-day-per-week position, ideal for a skilled technician with previous experience working within a school or scientific environment and a strong knowledge of practical science.

The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting teaching and learning across the Science Department, working closely with teaching staff to ensure practical lessons are well prepared, safe and engaging. A degree in a relevant scientific subject is preferred, alongside strong organisational and practical skills.
