The successful candidate will support practical science lessons for students with additional learning needs in an independent SEN school. You will prepare resources, maintain equipment, store chemicals safely, manage stock, and assist teaching staff to deliver engaging practical lessons.

Qualifications

• Good understanding of science laboratory procedures and safety.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
• Can work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Confident supporting staff in a busy educational environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, set up and clear away practical science experiments and demonstrations.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, materials and resources.
• Ensure chemicals and equipment are stored safely and in accordance with health and safety regulations.
• Assist teaching staff in delivering engaging practical lessons.
• Manage stock levels and order resources when required.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment and materials.
• Support the smooth day-to-day running of the science department.
