Job summary

Leigh Stationers' Academy is seeking a reliable Science Technician to support teaching in the Science department. You will help staff and pupils with resources and provide technical help to ensure safe, efficient laboratory lessons.

Within Leigh Academies Trust, you will maintain equipment, prepare experiments, support safety procedures, and contribute to projects and after-school activities to enrich student learning.

Responsibilities

• Prepare equipment and chemicals for lessons, run trials of experiments, and provide technical demonstrations for staff and students.
• Maintain, repair, and clean laboratory apparatus and equipment.
• Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed strictly, including the appropriate storage of chemicals.
• Maintain a bank of resources and assist with record-keeping for the department.
• Provide technical advice to students and support them with research projects.

As a Science Technician, your primary goal is to support teaching and learning within the Science department. You will ensure that staff and students have the resources and technical support they need to succeed in a safe, efficient laboratory environment.
